Human Embryonic Stem (hES) Cell Core Facility

We are seeking two highly motivated individuals for the position of Research Coordinator in the Human Embryonic Stem (hES) Cell Core Facility in the Department of Gene and Cell Medicine, Mount Sinai School of Medicine, New York. Our facility will focus on the further development of hES cell technology and its dissemination to interested laboratories within Mount Sinai.

Applicants must have an undergraduate degree in the biological or physical sciences. Prior laboratory experience in cell culture, basic molecular biology, and biochemistry is preferred. Experience in hES cell maintenance is a plus but not required.

Specific duties will include the maintenance and differentiation of human embryonic stem cell lines, performing a variety of molecular biology techniques, preparing laboratory reagents, recording and communicating data, teaching and providing limited administrative assistance.The ideal applicant will be a highly enthusiastic and self-driven individual, committed to learning and working with a team to contribute to advances in biology and medicine. He or she will be capable of effective data recording, demonstrate good organizational and communication skills and have the ability to prioritize multiple tasks.

A two-year commitment is required. The position is offered through Mount Sinai School of Medicine, New York. Compensation is commensurate with experience.
